Bas Manders, co-founder of the Dutch Fashion Foundation alongside Angelique Westerhof and Mark Terberg, played an integral role in establishing a dynamic organization committed to promoting Dutch artists and fashion on an international scale. The Dutch Fashion Foundation, known as DFF, embarked on various significant initiatives, one of which was the creation of 'Dutch Touch,' an international exposition series that provided a spotlight for Dutch creatives in cultural hubs like New York, Paris, Rome, and Barcelona. These exhibitions served as a stage for Dutch artists to showcase their talents to the world.

The core focus of the DFF foundation centered on fashion designers operating at an international prêt-à-porter fashion level. Within this sphere, they conceived innovative concepts, organized engaging fashion shows, enlightening lectures, captivating exhibitions, and impactful collaborations with prestigious brands, including Moët & Chandon, The Royal Concertgebouw, Colette Paris, Bugaboo, and Mercedes-Benz. Misterwilson worked as the creative partner for all projects of the Dutch Fashion Foundation like the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards.
